The pacific red snapper, Lutjanus peru, has a demand in the market, makes it an attractive species for aquaculture. However, the captivity production, poses problems because of the environmental conditions of captivity, and negative physiological effects on the reproductive process. In this paper it aims to clarify some integration mechanisms of the physiological and environmental information as well as events that regulate the reproduction of this species. Fish born in 2009 and were kept in 7m3 tanks,  with natural temperature and photoperiod; four years later (2013) The first natural spawning in captivity was obtained  at 4 years of age, weighing 2829.4 ± 80.9g and size 548.3± 4.6mm . Were detected increase levels of testosterone, estradiol and 11-Ketotestostenora a year before spawning. The onset of spawning coincides with the highest incidence of light (13.36 h / L) and a significant increase in temperature (24.81 ± 1.4 ° C); spawning  end with the drop in temperature, and daylight hours. Most eggs per spawning July (585ml) and fewer eggs in August (157 ml) was observed.
